TECTONIC UNITS (Chapter 3)

The book is full of names of both modern geography and geological tectonic units. To identify and describe those units, they are divided into several hundred numbered units of very variable sizes. The units are listed in numerical order, together with showing their places on the modern globe (see examples below), and with brief summaries of their geology, so that the reader can use Chapter 3 as an illustrated index for the geological narrative in the rest of the book.
